MEXICO OPERATIONS MANAGER

As the Mexico Operations Manager you will lead and manage all in-country upstream operational activities including drilling, exploration, well completions, and field operations. You will be responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, and profit and loss analysis. Compliance with local regulations and contractual obligations, while driving operational excellence and efficiency will also be part of the responsibilities for this role. 

💼 What You'll Be Doing:

• Plans and coordinates operations with other functions of the broader Lewis Energy Group organization to obtain optimum utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
• Ensures Lewis Energy Mexico operations comply with Pemex contract requirements and all relevant laws and regulations.
• Responsible for operational and technical communication with Pemex .
• Develops, maintains and manages the operational budget for Lewis Energy Mexico, and works with corporate finance department to support larger financial rollups.
• Coordinates with subordinate supervisors on personnel issues to include:  hiring, firing, performance appraisals, compensation concerns and disciplinary action.
• Negotiates contracts with third-party service providers.
• Builds the operational team for Lewis Energy Mexico.
• Processes invoices and provides executives with analysis regarding monthly, quarterly and annual profit and loss reviews.

About You (Qualifications & Experience)

Ideal candidates will have:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in engineering from a four-year college or university, or minimum of 10 years of experience and/or training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

✅ Bilingual (English/Spanish) with strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.

✅ Experienced in interpreting technical, financial, and legal documents, addressing inquiries, communicating effectively with executives, public groups, and regulatory agencies.

✅ Advanced problem solving, effective leadership skills, strong written and verbal communication skills.

✅ The ideal candidate is flexible and willing to travel extensively to field operations, including frequent overnight stays.

Your Responsibilities:

✓ Lead and oversee all operational activities in Mexico, with a focus on upstream operations including drilling, exploration, well completions, and field operations
✓ Ensure efficient, safe, and compliant execution of field operations
✓ Supervise and manage teams in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations
✓ Recruit, hire, and train employees to build a high-performing workforce
✓ Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure team alignment with strategic goals
✓ Conduct performance evaluations and implement employee development plans
✓ Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment
